I’m up in Salt Lake City for the Outdoor Retailer trade show to meet with some clients and see what new gear is on the horizon. I’ll be sure to post if I come across anything interesting. It’s actually not too hot for SLC this time of year, which is a nice change from the usual sweltering heat.
We got out for a nice three pitch outing in Big Cottonwood Canyon yesterday, I had never climbed there and wanted to check out the quartzite. It’s definitely some chunky rock that would feel right at home in western Colorado. The route was fun, lots of big incut holds. Perfect rehab for the finger, but I could have done without the attack of the killer bees, which stung me a couple of times, one right below my eye and this morning it looks like I got my ass kicked in a fight last night. Oh well, nothing like first impressions at OR!
