For Redstone to have a banner ice year, we need the perfect mix of snow and sunny days that are warm enough to get some water moving but not so hot everything falls down. This year it’s been sunny, but way too cold for much ice to come in other than the usual routes. Here’s what’s happening out there:
Avocado – Fat.
Dancing in the Moonlight – Fat.
Crystal Visions – Not In.
Tomato Chimney – Fat.
Dirty Linen Gully – Not In.
The Pencil – Nothing.
Redstone Pillar – Fat. As always be courteous to the land owners in the area.
Drool – In? Second pitch is for sure.
False Drool – Both pitches reported to be in, top pitch supposedly is hollow. Please use the gully approach and maintain a low profile walking by the houses.
Redstone Slabs – Not much here.
Hays Falls – Fat.
Marble Falls – In.
Not much is happening up Coal Creek, maybe that will change with the warmer weather this week.
The big routes in Glenwood Canyon are all in, including Glenwood Falls (get it before the sun destroys it), Hidden Falls and Mystery Falls.
Rifle is also reported to be in great shape.
