From the Friends of Indian Creek:
The 2012 Wildlife Closures were passed on to the Friends of Indian Creek on Thursday, March 29, 2012. It appears the BLM will be enforcing closures at the Cat Wall, Reservoir Wall, Slug Wall, Public Service Wall, 75 Cairns Wall, and The Wall for nesting raptors. Various species, including Golden Eagles and not just Peregrine Falcons, are bringing about the closures.
The closures will go into effect on Friday, March 30th, 2012, and last through August 31, 2012.
The FOIC recognizes that these closures can be a big hassle to visiting climbers. However, they are simply the law and adhering to them will help with future access. We are working with the BLM to see if there are some areas we might be able to mitigate the size of the closed area to something that accommodates both the endangered species and recreation.
